Hey guys, well, it’s been a while! We’ve crammed quite a bit in the last two months and haven’t been able to prioritise our updates here.
Back in December we were in the UK for a few weeks, which gave us the chance to meet our lovely van converters, but also go van shopping! Pete did loads of research and trawling of various van sites and came up with our must have criteria and budget, we were all set with our short-list of vans. Then, as we were about to embark on our tour of van garages, a new contender appeared and it was bluuuueeeee which was the colour we really wanted, but hard to prioritise over mileage and price!
So it shot to the top of the list on paper at least, so off we went to see it. En route we were checking reviews of the garage and trying to do all we could to stave off the nervousness we now get buying vehicles, after our previous van purchase a few years ago turned out badly! We couldn’t really think we were going to buy the first van we saw could we 😣
So everything was looking good, we arrived at the garage, had a look round the van which seemed pristine on the outside, got the keys and took it out for a test drive, still nothing was wrong!! Aaahhhhh really, we can’t be about to buy the first one, surely we need to see at least 70 before we procrastinate further and finally make a decision to buy the first one we found?
But nope, we stood firm and trusted in the research Pete had done, our guts and the fact we only had 3 days to sort this out! We took the plunge and bought the first one! During the paperwork the guy asked how many van’s we'd seen, he said most people who buy vans for conversion seem to look at lots! Gulp! That nervousness creeping back in, should we not buy it?! But no, we fought against our over cautious brains and did it! Yippeeeeeeee
We have a van. That we’re actually going to convert into a campervan.
If you really want something, make sure you listen to your heart and gut as much, if not more than your head!!
