At this point we're pretty familiar and comfortable with this idea, but as we speak to more people, it turns out that not everyone spends hours looking at van conversions on YouTube and Pinterest, who knew that isn’t a thing everyone does!!
So whether you’ve never seen a van conversion before, or like us, you’ve been dreaming of this for a while, we hope you’ll enjoy this journey with us.
Van conversions have become an increasingly popular way of creating unique and cost effective campervans. With the #vanlife movement gaining momentum it has given many creative people the inspiration to travel, or simply live without the financial constraints of exorbitant rents or impossible mortgage payments.
The concept of van conversion is to take an ex-delivery or work van, strip it back to it’s shell, add insulation, electrics, heating and it gives you a blank canvass to build your own layout and design of a small space onto! There are so many creative ways that people have done this and we’ve been so inspired by our research.
However, we're not quite ready to downsize our entire life to a van just yet, but equally want the flexibility and freedom to travel around and balance work with seeing friends & family over long weekends and holidays. We love the idea of creating a cosy space that feels homely and unique, but also works perfectly for our needs; hosting a puppy next year, muddy walking boots and likely a significant amount of cycling gear!
Our goal is to use the van ourselves, but also to rent it out to anyone who wants their own meandering adventure. Whether you want trundle around the UK, head to a festival or drive through the French countryside, we'd love for our van to support as many adventures as possible!
We've got an exciting couple of weeks coming up, including van shopping and meeting our conversion team, so keep your eyes peeled for loads more stuff coming soon!
